Based on feedback collected from members and their families, Defence has changed the format of its transition seminars so attendees can tailor their experience according to their own circumstances. Registering and attending a seminar is now also easier for families.
ADF Member and Family Transition Seminars are now run over one day with three event stages and an expo-style floor area. With a list of information sessions that cover topics such as health, finance and career planning being held at each stage, you can make decisions on which ones to attend.
The expo floor will have more stalls with representation from ex-service organisations, transition service providers, community organisations and career support providers. Members and their families will have the flexibility to talk to the stallholders about their needs which will provide a more personalised experience.
There’s also more flexibility for families who may have other commitments or are based interstate at the time. If you are a family member or support person and can’t make it to the session that the member is attending, you can still register and attend on another date or location.
Family or support people can register by emailing the Transition National Support Team at email@example.com including the PMKeys number of the ADF member they are supporting. Members can register their attendance through CAMPUS.
The first one-day ADF Member and Family Transition Seminar was held on 10 October at Melbourne Park Function Centre, Rod Laver Area. Check out the remaining Seminar dates for 2018 for one near you.
