Freedom of Information Statistics
Defence provides quarterly statistics on the number of FOI access requests, which the department receives, the time taken to respond and a summary of decisions made on the FOI requests.
Further information about Defence's handling of FOI access requests, including information about costs incurred, is published in the Australian Information Commissioner's Annual Report. The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) is required to give this report to the OAIC's responsible Minister for presentation to Parliament under section 46 of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013.
